About Maisha Gray-Diggs, Ph.D

Learn the motivation behind who I am

Dr. Maisha Gray-Diggs (Dr. MGD) holds the unique distinction of being one of a few engineering leaders who pivoted to ascend the ranks of talent acquisition leadership. Her engineering, research, development and human resource experiences combine to deliver real value to organizations on a global scale by driving growth, advancing innovation and executing winning approaches to build people, grow organizational capability, build capacity, and optimize processes and systems. Her work is informed by a wealth of experience inside of several Fortune 500 companies across the CPG and tech sectors.

Currently, Dr. MGD is the Sr. Director of Talent Acquisition at Twitter, Inc. She is a change agent at the forefront in the “war for talent” who navigates ambiguity and wields an innate ability to “sense and respond” dynamically. She has as well earned the reputation as a quick study, a reflective thought leader and one who is uniquely positioned to deliver game changing results.

Dr. MGD believes that to whom much is given, much is expected. As such, she continues to share her time, talents, and treasures with organizations focused on topics close to her heart which include equity and access for the underrepresented; eye, organ and tissue donation; youth empowerment; and STE[A]M.

She is currently a MIT Club of Northern California board member; Special Director of the Society of Women Engineers; and an Ambassador to Donor Network West. Additionally she serves as the Chapter Editor for the Oakland Bay Area Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. and Team Manager for the 2010 U12 Girls and Boys Soccer Teams of the Piedmont Soccer Club. MGD enjoys spending quality time with her children and exploring new frontiers as a continuous learner.

 

Dr. MGD truly believes that to whom much is given, much is expected (Luke 12:48). She lives this through service to others. She tutors high school students in math, science, and ACT/SAT. She mentors undergraduate and graduate students in the STEM disciplines, providing them with both professional and personal coaching to help prepare them for a career in academia or the corporate world. She speaks to donor families and funeral home directors to encourage their support of organ, eye, and tissue donation. Dr. MGD has served on several board of trustees and advisory boards focused on K-12 students and inner city youth.

Dr. MGD, a 2008 YWCA Rising Star, is an alumna of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber’s Women Excel Leadership Program and the Cincinnati YWCA Rising Star Leadership Program. She was recognized as a member of Cincinnati’s Business Courier’s 2010 Forty Under 40 class and as a Cincinnati YMCA 2011 Adult Black & Latino Achiever. She has additionally received numerous P&G recognitions, including stock grants, for outstanding business building contributions and organizational achievements.

Dr. Maisha Gray-Diggs (@STEMDrMGD) holds the unique distinction of being one of a few engineering leaders who pivoted to ascend the ranks of talent acquisition leadership. She completed undergraduate and doctorate degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from MIT and Northwestern University, respectively. She is the Sr. Director of Talent Acquisition at Twitter, Inc. and a change agent at the forefront in the “war for talent”, ensuring that #InclusionIsHappening in all of Twitter’s recruitment efforts. Dr. MGD’s favorite role is that of Mom to 10-year old boy/girl twins, who she happily chauffeurs to their competitive soccer games.
